Can you afford a Personal Trainer?

‘But PTS are too expensive, I can’t afford it!’

The first thing I want to say is can you really put a price on your health?

How many times have you thought about this? I understand it seems like a large sum of money and most of the time will seem way out of budget for you. Especially if you have a house to run, children to look after, a car to run etc. But let me break it down for you…

So I know this will not apply to everyone but let’s look at your typical person and what their week might consist of.

I can guarantee most of us don’t even second guess spending this amount of money each week/month.

1 takeaway a week: £20
5 costa coffees before word and a cake daily: £40
2 bottles of wine on a weekend: £14

TOTAL: £74 a week or £296 a month

This isn’t taking into account any nights out or meals out which I can guess we likely spend even more than that on either of them.

Compared with…

(Gasps in horror when you see how much a PT charges)

4x PT sessions: £120
Gym membership: £25 a month (£18 if your my client)

TOTAL: £145 a month (£138.a month)

So now let’s consider making a trade. So instead of getting a costa coffee every day you wake up a few minutes earlier in the morning to make a coffee at home and take it in a flask with you on your commute to work. Then consider ditching the daily cake. You would be saving yourself £160 a month!!.

That has literally paid for your PT sessions, gym membership and some of the finest coffee from your local supermarket added to your weekly shopping list with even a few ££ to spare.

Now imagine you reduce the amount of takeaways you eat and your alcohol intake! You’d save even more money whilst also starting to work towards that healthier you!

I’m not here to tell you to not enjoy your life so that you are able to afford a PT. What I am here to do is show you how much each and every one of us (yes even I have been guilty of this in the past) are willing to spend our money on without even second guessing!

Sometimes it is about making choices and deciding what is more important.

I want to leave you with the same question I started this off with…

Can you really put a price on your health?
