As a person, and a PT I think being honest and real can really help others.
I’m only human at the end of the day, and like everyone else I can be tough on myself sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t always necessarily a bad thing. But it is easy to compare yourself to someone else. I sometimes do it.
Wishing my shoulders were as defined as someone elses, or that my legs were bigger.
But what is important to remember is that is you V you.
Todays you v the person you was yesterday.
We should only ever strive to be better than the person we was.
It could be easy for me to sit and look at someone else progress and forgot how much ive actually progressed myself.
My legs have always been a part of my body I disliked. I feel like compared to other people my legs are small in proportion. If I didn’t do pole or have the support around me reminding me of how far I have come, I might not be as confident to get my legs out and prance around in the gym in shorts like I do now.
But taking a moment to sit back and reflect on your own progress is a staple part of your journey. Its easy to forget where you started. For me the growth but physically and mentally, is real. My legs HAVE gotten bigger. Growth takes time. It’s never going to stop. I will always want to be better, which is what will keep me motivated, determined and keep that passion lit and burning.
These picture are my own personal leg growth/transformation.
7th June 2019- 10th June 2022!
IT TAKES TIME.
Give yourself that time, believe in yourself, trust the process but most importantly enjoy it!
